Beth and Brandon have allowed Lavender and Light to photograph them for their Christmas photos six years in a row. They have been with me from the very first year I started this business. Not only are they extremely loyal customers, but they are absolute naturals in front of the camera.
Their outfits are always perfect, Beth chooses the prettiest dresses! Each year we just spend some time catching up at their session. We went to high school together and have lived in the same area since, so it is great to spend time with them.
Six sessions together mean that we have had to get creative with our location ideas. We never want the session to look or feel the same as it did the year before. From Salisbury, North Carolina to Albemarle, Locust, Morrow Mountain… But to be honest, this year we didn’t exactly have a plan. I had an idea to do them at an old abandoned building in Albemarle, but unfortunately when we got there, it wasn’t exactly picture perfect. We decided to drive around for a bit and Brandon pointed out this tiny little park. It wasn’t much that is for sure, but the sun was coming through perfectly through the fall trees.
We have finally decided that this coming year will be bigger and better than ever and we are going to travel (by plane) for their Christmas session. I can’t wait to explore with them in a city that is a little bigger than our own Charlotte, NC. But that is all I am going to say because I want it to be a surprise. Years of planning and talking about it, and 2023 is the year we are going to make it happen.
